A fixed-scope first engagement: a look at your books, your reporting and your cadence, followed by a written read and a plan for what the seat should cover.
What it is
One read, before anything else starts.
We look at what you already have: the books, the last budget, whatever reporting exists, and what you are being asked for by a board, a funder or a lender.
You get a written read on what is working, what is missing, and what the seat should cover at your size. Most engagements start here, project or standing seat both.
Who it's for
If one of these is you, we are probably a fit.
- Non-profits and societies
- Multi-fund budgets, funder reporting on someone else's calendar, and a volunteer board that deserves numbers it can actually read.
- Indigenous governments and development corporations
- Reporting to councils, boards and members, across entities that each have their own obligations and their own year-end.

- Enough revenue that the decisions are expensive, not enough overhead to justify a controller sitting between you and them.

- A finance lead who has left, a growth step that broke the old spreadsheet, or a funder who has started asking harder questions.

What it costs
Scoped in writing, before you commit to anything.
We do not publish a price here, for the same reason the scope for any engagement is a one-page document rather than a rate card: what the review covers depends on the size of the books behind it, and you should see the number before you owe it, not after.
What we can say is the shape of it: a finance review costs less than a month of carrying this yourself, and it ends with something in writing, whether or not you go any further with us.
